Private Households

The climate transformation is a societal task that can only succeed with broad acceptance. Private households face profound changes: switching to climate-neutral heating, adopting electric mobility and public transport, and adapting to rising fossil fuel prices. These challenges affect households differently. While some can afford the necessary investments, others risk being overwhelmed by higher energy costs. Only if all households can afford the transition will ambitious climate policy gain social acceptance. Social justice thus becomes a prerequisite for successful climate action. The Foundation for Climate Neutrality develops concepts for a socially balanced transformation that leaves no one behind. Targeted subsidies and public services aim to ensure that all households can make the transition.
